Alliance members' site visit to Sino project using EcoBricks product
Sustainability is at the heart of our members of Hong Kong PropTech Alliance. On 27 June 2022, our members paid a visit to Gold Coast Piazza in Tuen Mun to appraise Sino’s latest green development utilising EcoBricks, a Hong Kong local start-up that has the ability to upcycle all seven types of plastic waste into ‘green concrete’ for use in a wide variety of industry-standard construction materials.
EcoBricks can replace up to 50% of natural aggregates in concrete bricks with unwanted plastic waste. This means for every 100 square metres of EcoBricks produced, up to 2,000kg of plastic waste, equivalent to 200,000 plastic bottles, is diverted from landfills.
With more innovative technologies in place to reduce carbon footprint and accelerate circular economy, members of the Alliance will continue to support the adoption of these green solutions and drive sustainable development in real estate together.
